Modern Slavery Policy
Commitment to Ethical Practices
Modern slavery is a severe violation of human rights, manifesting in forms such as slavery, servitude, forced labor, and human trafficking. At Hana Group, we are committed to upholding social and environmental responsibility, maintaining a zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of slavery and human trafficking. We pledge to conduct our business with the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and transparency. To prevent and combat modern slavery within our operations and supply chains, we have implemented rigorous systems and controls.
Implementation and Oversight
Hana Group’s leadership, including the directors and senior management team, is fully committed to complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Key personnel such as the Procurement Manager, Technical Manager, and Operations Managers are responsible for the daily execution of this policy. They monitor its effectiveness, audit internal controls, policies, and procedures, and investigate any reported instances of modern slavery within our operations or supply chains.
Promoting Openness and Reporting
We are dedicated to fostering a culture of openness at Hana Group. We encourage and support all employees who, in good faith, raise genuine concerns about modern slavery, even if their concerns are ultimately unfounded. We guarantee protection from any form of detrimental treatment or victimization for those who report their suspicions regarding modern slavery within any part of our business or supply chains.
Comprehensive Anti-Slavery Policy
Our anti-slavery policy applies to all our employees, subcontractors, and suppliers, with compliance being mandatory. This policy underscores our commitment to acting transparently, respectfully, and with integrity in all our business relationships. We do not tolerate slavery or human trafficking in any form, including forced labor, servitude, and child labor. We implement and enforce effective systems and controls to mitigate these risks.
Supplier Partnership and Risk Assessment
We are committed to collaborating with our supply chain to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking, promoting ethical and sustainable procurement throughout the company. We expect our suppliers to adhere to ethical standards and ensure full transparency of their processes and sources. We assess the risk of slavery or human trafficking within our supply chains, applying enhanced checks for new suppliers or in higher-risk areas. This may result in decisions to cease partnerships or request additional information before proceeding.
Employee Responsibility
The responsibility for preventing, detecting, and reporting modern slavery within any part of our business or supply chains rests with all our employees, subcontractors, and suppliers. If you suspect modern slavery is occurring or may occur, or are aware of any policy breaches, you should promptly inform your Manager or report it in accordance with the Hana Group UK Whistleblowing Policy. Breaches of this policy may lead to disciplinary action for employees and contract termination for suppliers and subcontractors.
Supply Chain Integrity
Our objective is to consistently provide high-quality ingredients and products to our customers. Recognizing the complexity of our global supply chain, we are committed to sourcing products responsibly and ethically. Hana Group exclusively partners with suppliers who adhere to ethical and legal standards, thereby supporting a sustainable and transparent supply chain.
Ethical Conduct and Fair Employment
We endeavor to be honest, fair, and trustworthy in all our undertakings and relationships. We are committed to fair employment practices and ensuring a safe workplace for our diverse team. Our company values clearly outline our expectations for ethical conduct from all employees. We apply consistent ethical trading considerations when selecting and approving suppliers.
Due Diligence
Hana Group requires all current suppliers to confirm, to the best of their ability, the absence of slavery or human trafficking in their operations and supply chains. Suppliers unable to provide these assurances or found in violation risk termination of their contracts. We do not knowingly engage with suppliers who exploit people or natural resources. As of now, all our suppliers are in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
