Closing the Gap: Our Progress on Gender Pay Equality

February 2025

Sushi Gourmet UK Gender Pay Gap Report

Under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017, companies with over 250 employees are required to report the percentage difference in average hourly earnings between men and women. As part of this commitment, we publish our results both on our website and the government portal. The data is based on the snapshot date of 5th April 2024 and includes the following measures: The mean and median gender pay gap The mean and median bonus gap The proportion of male and female employees receiving bonuses

Our Gender Pay Gap Results

Sushi Gourmet UK acknowledges that this year’s Gender Pay Gap report may not fully reflect the overall composition of our workforce due to the methodology applied. However, we remain committed to fostering a workplace that promotes equality, opportunity, and career progression for all employees.

One key observation from this year’s data is that a higher proportion of senior positions within the organisation are still held by male employees While this remains an area of focus, we have made meaningful progress by increasing female representation at leadership levels, including the appointment of two female senior executives. Additionally, we now have an almost equal number of female (7) and male (8) area managers, a significant step towards gender balance in leadership roles.

At a store level, the workforce snapshot showed 33.5% male colleagues and 66.5% female colleagues—an increase in female representation compared to the previous year.

Pay Gap Trends and Progress

• The median pay gap stands at 3%, a notable improvement from previous years.

• The median bonus pay gap remains flat at 0%, demonstrating continued fairness in performance-based rewards.

• Removing executive team data from the study significantly reduces the bonus gender pay gap from 38% to 22% and the mean gender pay gap from 14% to 8%.

• 84% of female employees received a bonus compared to 77% of male employees.

Our Commitment to Progress

Sushi Gourmet UK is dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment where all colleagues have equal opportunities for advancement. Over the past five years, we have made measurable improvements in gender representation, particularly at the senior management level. While this year’s report shows a relatively stable comparison to last year, the long-term trend reflects meaningful progress in closing the gender gap.

Moving forward, we continue to focus on: Supporting female leadership development initiatives Encouraging career progression for women at all levels Ensuring fair and transparent pay structures

We remain committed to further balancing gender representation, particularly at senior levels, and will continue striving for a workplace that promotes equality and diversity.

I can confirm the above is true and accurate.
